The brief
I was contracted by global marketing agency JWT to write the code for the front end templates for the Kelloggs Special K website.
The JWT crew had produced wireframes and graphic designs – my job was to translate them into HTML/CSS and write any Javascript, and then hand them on to the developers for integration into the CMS.
Our timelines were tight – a new campaign was being launched for the new year. The site was to feature recipes, articles and a body mass index (BMI) calculator, and target women who were interested in realising their new year resolutions of achieving good health in 2011.
The Solution
I was provided with designs for 12 templates, including entry pages with slideshows, forms, articles, recipes, exercise plans and the challenging calculator.
I worked remotely, collaborating closely with the JWT developer who was overseeing the front-end development for the project. We used Subversion to share files and control versioning of code.
