The brief
NGV embarked on a large redesign project that included a new design, new IA, new CMS and many new features. I was asked to get involved as an additional front-end designer for hire.
The Solution
Large-scale projects often involve many different people with diverse ideas and expertise. The NGV worked with a design agency, which came up with their visual design and wrote and supplied the HTML/CSS. I was asked to work and (where necessary) modify that code to build templates in the gallery’s new My Source Matrix CMS. I also integrated several important custom apps with the CMS. I worked in-house under the supervision of their lead developer.
In the course of the project I was invited to contribute my ideas to design and development problem-solving workshops about the interface and interaction designs.
